I'm psyched to see this, too. I loved Snyder's Dawn of the Dead remake, and with 300, he managed to turn a comic I didn't care about into a very enjoyable flick. Hopefully, his lucky streak will hold.

Meanwhile, 20th Century Fox -- not Alan Moore, who has disassociated himself from the film -- is trying to stop/delay the release of Watchmen. Fox claims Warner Bros. (DC Comics' parent company, by the way) is guilty of copyright infringement. Allegedly, Fox had the movie rights and quietly sat back while Warner Bros. invested millions into the film. Now that it's shot, Fox wants their fair share. Legally, I suppose they're in the right. But that doesn't mean they're not cocks.
The trial is slated for January 20th, and the film is due to be released on March 6th. But don't hold your breath.
In other news, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was a perfectly fine rental. So fine, in fact, that I bought the DVD after renting it. Suck that, Alan Moore.

If he fucks with my viewing pleasure, I'm going to be one extremely pissed off Aussie, and I can pitch a thong with the best of them
For the record, I didn't mind LOEG. I'd read the reviews and saw that for the most part it was shit on, but I didn't see any problem with it.

WHAT???!!!?!! There's a naked dude in it, with his junk on full display? OMG! I'd better not go see it, then. I don't want to walk out of there with a taste for penis.

Yeah, there's loads of blue dong in the film. You'll almost be surprised there isn't blue dong behind the credits as they roll.
Incidentally, Kevin Smith loved it (the film, not the blue dong), and as one of the biggest comic book geeks in film that I'm aware of, that can't be a bad recomendation.

But there's no Ben Affleck in this one.
