from reuters:
"Gay men and straight women share some characteristics in the area of the brain responsible for emotion, mood and anxiety, researchers said. Brain scans also showed the same symmetry among lesbians and straight men."
"Brain scans of 90 volunteers showed that the brains of heterosexual men and homosexual women were slightly asymmetric with the right hemisphere slightly larger than the left, Ivanka Savic and Pers Lindstrom wrote. The brains of gay men and heterosexual women were not. Then they measured blood flow to the amygdala -- the area key for the "fight-or-flight" response -- and found it was wired in a similar fashion in gay men and heterosexual women as well as lesbians and heterosexual men. The researchers added that the study cannot say whether the differences in brain shape are inherited or due to exposure to hormones such as testosterone in the womb and if they are responsible for sexual orientation."

So much for not being born gay.
If the brain is affected, surely it's something to do with your body, hormones or DNA rather than homosexuality being a result of environment, etc.

What's always confused me is when people say homosexuality is a choice. So when were we given the option of choosing between being gay or straight? If they say that it's a choice, then they're acknowledging that everyone has the option of being gay, including themselves, they simply "chose" to be straight.

This has been around for awhile. Also noted was that gay men's and straight women's brains reacted similarly when exposed to inhaled (or "sniffed") chemical's from testosterone (aka pheromones).
Lesbians, apparently get the shaft when it comes to science----after all, lesbians only exist for straight-male kicks.
PS. it doesn't take science to prove to me that homosexuality is natural and inborn. My best friend is gay and he's always been gay---since we were kids when we didn't even know what "gay" was. Like Mono---and a bunch of others (including myself)---has/have argued, when did straight folks CHOOSE/DECIDE to be straight?*
*like any other cool young woman, I tried to be gay. I tried to CHOOSE to be gay. It didn't work... I'm still kinda depressed.

Maybe you still have a choice it is just at a subconscious level and we do not realize it. Not arguing for either point just throwing that out there.

Question: what would be the benefit(s) to "choosing" to be gay?
