RSS feeds poll

I have this set up for my site(s) and even for this forum, but I don't use it to read other people's sites at all. I seems like technology for technology's sake, and I can't really justify its existence. Anybody feel differently?

I haven't put you or BA on an RSS feed as I'm in both places at least 5 times a day anyway so it seemed pointless.

When I said I didn't do this site or BA, it's because it doesn't really need an RSS feed, other than to be a good webmaster, as there is new content all the time.

I have it listed because it's always there with Movable Type. I've read up on a bit but I still don't quite understand how it works.
I don't subscribe to anything, maybe I should try it and see if it works.
Does it really make a difference with readership?

RSS makes some people very happy.
Especially podcast listeners. The RSS feed will automatically fetch the latest mp3s and download them for you.

I like to do a quick read of the many blogs I read at work.
It is much better for me to use Bloglines to check them, than to surf from site to site to see if there is anything to read.
Plus many of those sites are blocked by our firewall.
And Mango is right RSS feeds fro podcasts rock, have the MP3s delivered to me automatically is great.

Ok, yours and Mango's explanations made sense. I'm giving it a shot with bloglines right now and then I'll try it with SBR and podcast or something.
There's so much I have yet to learn or even begin to comprehend.

I've been using FeedSpring. It's a lot easier to update especially now that they've released the latest version.
If anyone uses a different xml editor, let me know. Very curious.
*The above post wasn't funny at all. Nor did it attempt to be. Instead, here are some smilies
