Do delusional bloggers/webmasters deserve pity or derision

Today I found this poor guy. Maybe the site isn't "live" yet. I found the following snippet of awww-that's-sad. It reads: "we hope to be the largest online website-based community in the world."
C'mon now. That's a tall order. How about being the largest community in your zip code first? You see this in blogging, forums, myspace, you name it. Part of me feels sorry for these lost souls. But mostly I just feel scorn and derision. I voted derision.

I voted for much worse.
We want Forumpedia to become the largest online community in the world. To do this we need more than 5 million members. To help us on the way to that figure, we have introduced the Forumpedia.com Mega Competition.
It is so easy to enter. Just sign up for Forumpedia Complete Membership and you are automatically entered. When the number of Completee members reaches 5 million, an Elite member is randomly chosen to be the winner.
The prize? A 50"+ plasma HDTV! We will endeavour to get the largest TV available. Could even be a 63"!

Newgrounds.com never wanted to be the largest flash hosting site the world.
Wikipedia never wanted to become the largest online encyclopedia.
This guy has no chance.

The blog, the domain buying, the community making.. It's a disease.
I am incurable. If that is pity worthy, I don't know what is.

I remember why I like Mango now!
Pity? You got to be fucking kidding...
That sounds like a miserable corporate mission statement. I hate them already...
Besides the Shitty Blogs Club will become the biggest online community. Not because we strive to, but because of the overwhelming amount of shit out there.
