May 29, 2008 - With Gears of War comics and toys on the way, it was only a matter of time before someone began preparing life-sized armor and weapons based on the popular Microsoft franchise. Today TriForce Sales announced that it has secured the license to create 1:1 scale replicas of the armor and weapons used by the Delta Squad from the Coalition of Ordered Governments (COGs). The company will be working with sculptor Sid Garrand of Nightmare Armor Studios to design each piece.

For the hardcore Ultra Geek. They made Mjolnir Armor (Halo armor) for a while, they even made around a dozen suits for G4 when Halo 3 was released. Microsoft put an end to that though. Still, if you have $2k - $5k you don't want, you can be the biggest nerd on your block.

I remember the replica for Hellboy's gun. It even came with giant bullets.

The one thing I don't quite understand in the licensed replica business is the whole lightsaber deal. It's just the handle. I think I saw some that had optional "blades" but that's far from the norm. If you can't run around your apartment brandishing your inner geek, then what's the point?
