Been learning javascript, ajax and actionscript 3 lately. Ajax is pretty wild. I used to think it was just for doing a few fancy schmancy scripting things on the page without reloading, but it can also make a call to the server and, e.g. pull up info from a database via php, without loading a new page, which I didn't know. Pretty cool.
I've only scratched the surface with actionscript 3 (the new scripting language for flash). Should be worthwhile.

I hope when you're done you'll be able to launch a global attack of some kind. This is taking a great deal of time.

I know, right? Between classes and work and the bar, I haven't gotten very far. To complicate things, Invision 3.0 (the newest version of the forum software) is coming up soon and a lot of the code that I need to tie-in the game to the forum is going to be very, very different (but hopefully simpler). Honestly, I need one other person to work on this thing with me, but I just haven't been able to find anyone. I'll also try to cut out a few more features to at least get some sort of skeleton running...but again, Invision 3 won't be out until late this year (I'm guessing)

I hope this doesn't join forces with McA U and disappear ...

?
McA Univ is still there.
I'm still very excited about doing this thing, it's just a bit over my head. I've been taking night courses to get the basics of the web development technology, then I gotta get more comfortable coding by myself. Like I've said, this kind of project realistically needs more than one person doing it--or at least "more than one person at my level of coding expertise."
Oh the massive site changes you'd see if someone send several million dollars via paypal so I could retire and become a fulltime web dork!
In the meantime, work, classes, building a bar and keeping MA/Misf updated will have to suffice. Believe me, there's nothing I'd like better than to work on this full time.

I had to do some research, I wasn't trying to say you weren't busy with stuff, but the last post I remember in the McU thread was ...
but after going back ....
was the last post in the thread. So my bad, I was just trying to tease about you not updating the thread for when you did open it. Which I did badly. And I was wrong. Double fail again

Hahaha, did I say this week? Let's call it November to be safe. Yes. Registration begins in November.
but after going back ....

After vicious infighting among the trustees, I'm happy to report that registration for McAwesome University is officially open. Calloo callay!
Although I can't confirm it, I do believe that McU is the least expensive institution of higher learning. Take that, Harvard. Take that right in the face.
