I'm calling this game a draw.

If I replaced WK, the Crew would win.
As the votes were going, if I hadn't replaced WK, the Aliens would win.

The players roles were:
Bacony Goodness - Crew
Chad - Alien Minion - infected N2
Dave - Ripley
Deb - Alien Minion - infected N3
jeckles - Crew
malfouka - Crew
norseman1066 - Crew
Our House - Alien Minion - infected N1
thegrunter - Mama Alien
WebKittyn - Bishop

Here's my reasoning behind Deb getting infected N3: In the movie (which I was trying to stay fairly true to), the Mother Alien laid a slew of "eggs". Then, Alien Minions caught humans and affixed them above the eggs, so that when the facehuggers hatched, they had hosts ready for them to attack. At that point, the Mother Alien could have died, and the eggs would have survived just fine. The one change I did make was that the Mother Alien only laid one egg per Day, for use that Night. The reason the infection of Deb went through on N3, even though thegrunter was lynched D3, was because the egg was already there, and thegrunter had already ordered the infection in MobChat prior to being lynched. Since both OH and Chad were still alive, they would have been able to put the egg into a position to infect Deb that night.

Let's say that thegrunter had been lynched D1. In that scenario, since there were no aliens available at night to carry out the infection, the game would have ended.

I think the "loophole" that I was able to use that caused confusion with Dave is that I stated that every Night after N1, the Mama Alien could designate a subordinate Alien to carry out the infection. Since we have MobChat, thegrunter was able to make his wishes known to his Minions before he was lynched.

As I said at the beginning of the game, this was an experiment. I figured things wouldn't go smoothly, and I was right.

With regards to the fairness of selecting Chad, a dead Alien, to replace WK as Bishop, it really didn't matter that he knew the roles. As of Day 5, the only remaining player that hadn't been Scanned was OH. Everyone knew that Dave was Ripley and WK was Bishop. WK's N4 scan was of Deb. Since Deb was infected, she came up Infected. I'm sure if WK had been around D5, she'd have been all over Deb to be lynched, and I'm sure she'd have chosen to scan OH on N5. Sure, Chad knew who the Aliens were, but based on the list of previous scans and results, there was only one logical player for him to scan: OH.

Dave: What rule change suggestion do you have with regards to the "egg" situation. I thought I'd put that in already.

Everyone else: What thoughts do you have on improving this particular Mafia Version?

I want to use the general terms (mob, hit, cop) in order to lessen confusion.

The thing about the hits is this: The hit itself is conducted during the night AFTER a lynching. Once Grunter is lynched, he cannot conduct a hit. It's sequential. Lynchings, then hits, then doc protection (protection is sort of a misnomer...think of the doc as operating on the victim to save his life).

If this egg business is an intentional variation on the way a hit (or recruitment) is normally conducted, it must be explicit.

We do the hits in MobChat and PM stuff prior to the end of the day because we want to speed up the boring 'night' portion of the game. If a doc PMs you before the end of Day 2 that he wants to protect x, and the doc is lynched, he doesn't get to protect x just because he told you earlier.

I thought this was the most fun variation of the game so far, of course I had the most fun role. I thought I did pretty good, and I usually suck at this. Most of the crew was lost! Woo HOO!
I see this as being the only variation where the hits could take place after the godfather was lynched. Only because the infected crew member wouldn't know that they were an alien until the next day. It's that the egg is planted and hasn't takes a day to come to fruition i guess.
My main concern with this variation is that Ripley is almost invincible. I guess that takes good thinkin' on the aliens' parts. If I hadn't been taken out, I was really hoping to get the aliens to all unify their votes to get Ripley lynched. That would have been a truly successful game on my part, but alas, it didn't happen.

I was actually very resentful that I became an alien because I was gunning for OH being an alien for ages.

When I became an alien I had to change tack and blah.

Great game, though... If not for the egg laying in wait for me, OH would have been alien toast!
