Ok, see, here's the thing.
I don't feel the least bit guilty posting this, because the game is pretty much over. If I can't get a replacement for WK, there are no Scans, and the Crew will lose. If I do replace WK, then the Crew wins. All because of a flaw in the initial rules.
Here's the current player situation:
- Ripley - 1
- Bishop - 1
- Crew - 1
- Aliens - 2
Yes, there are two Aliens. The Mother Alien has to "lay an egg" in the morning to produce a facehugger for infection that night. The Day thegrunter was lynched, there was 1 converted Alien, one infected Alien, and one to-be-infected Alien. So far, the Crew has found and lynched one Alien, leaving the other two. If we don't replace WK, then the Crew is flying blind, and the two Aliens are able to pick off and lynch the remaining crew. If a Crewmember is lynched today, the Aliens win. All they have to do is be first to vote to lynch and both vote to lynch Ripley or Bishop. Since everyone pretty much knows who those to roles are, it's easy for them.
On the other hand, if I do replace WK, then her N4 scan becomes public, outing an Alien. That Alien gets lynched. That leaves one of each role left. Of the remaining players left, there is only one that has not been scanned (other than WK herself). Once that player is scanned, and the results become known, the game is over. Actually, if an Alien is lynched today, the game is pretty much over because a single Alien will never be able to lynch Ripley &/or Bishop when both roles are known.
It was a good experiment, I've learned a lot about the initial rules, and have adjusted them for future use, so as to avoid this issue. For example, once the Mother Alien is killed, the remaining Aliens should be able to kill a Crewmember at night. If they can't do that, the Crew just picks them off.
Anyway, if no one objects, I'll call the game ended, and post roles.
