Just to keep the thread history consistent, I've started this thread for you.

Post your infection order in this thread, bolded as usual. Since as of this evening you'll most likely have a minion, I'll assume that the minion will be doing the infecting in case you target Ripley.

You won't be alone for long...

Also, there's been a request from the crew that you post your guesses as to whom you suspect are Ripley and Bishop.

I'd kinda like to know who you think is what, too. Of course, I will neither confirm nor deny any guess, nor will I share it with the rest of the players, only those who have access to MobChat.

It's sort of lonely being the only alien...
I'm not sure I want to grant the request to reveal my guesses. Do I have to? I do believe WK is the bishop, I think. I sort of have a hunch that Dave is Ripley.
I understand that after tonight, I have to name the alien that is going to be the infector, right? I only have one alien to choose from at the moment, but I'm not sure that alien can infect yet, as that alien doesn't realize he is alien yet. I believe that I have to wait until the next night before I can send that alient out. I mean, I think I have to tell that alien face to face that he is gonna be sacrificed, correct? I guess this makes sense because if Ripley is targeted, an alien will die, so this way the alien death will not be random. If I target Ripley tonight, then I die. Hmmm... if I am wrong and I can, send OurHouse, otherwise I'll sacrifice myself I guess.

The request for your thoughts as to who is Ripley and Bishop is that it's interesting reading after the game is over. Sort of an insight into how different players play.

My take on the infection process is that the infected player becomes an alien at nightfall of the end of the day they spent infected. The next infection takes place after nightfall. The lynching takes place immediately prior to nightfall. So the chronology of the different events would be:

• lynching
  
• nightfall
  
• infected player from previous round becomes alien
  
• new infection order goes out
  
• next day begins

Based on that interpretation of the rules as I created them, you'll have an alien minion available to you as soon as the lynching is over.

Here's another interesting thing that I don't think anyone has thought of: If you were to sacrifice yourself tonight and target Ripley, leaving Our House the lone Alien, the game still continues. The only change is that no more infections will occur. With no Mother Alien to lay eggs, there are no more facehuggers to infect the crew. Then it becomes a game of attrition and paranoia. There would be only one Alien, but everyone would think that there are more, that the Mother Alien is still causing infections. Sure, you'd be dead, but your role will not have been revealed. For all they know, you were either a minion sent to infect Ripley, or that you were Bishop, and the Aliens attempted to infect you. I wouldn't recommend testing this scenario.

I was just wondering what would happen if the MA got killed. That makes sense. I must admit, I think this variantion of Mafia is quite fun. I don't think i've spent as much time thinking about a mafia game before, but then on the other hand I have never been the lone mafia.

So, just one more clarification: Is it now OurHouse that has been sent to infect Chad, or is it still me?
If it is OurHouse, can I automatically send Chad for the next infection tonight, even though he does not know he is alien? You clarified this above, but like Malfouka said, I am pretty slow.

Yes, if Chad is still alive, you can select him for the next infection if you'd like.

And then is it OurHouse that is infecting Chad tonight, or me?

It would be Our House that is carrying out the infection. That way, if Chad happens to be Ripley, Our House dies, and you're able to infect someone the next night. If you were to do the infecting, and Chad is Ripley, you'd die, and Our House would be the only alien left to play out the game. By sending your minion to do the infecting, if the minion dies, you're still able to infect later in the game.

I'm pretty sure that Dave is truly Ripley, but can we convince everyone to lynch him? If we can't get him lynched, we can't win. We've got until Monday to try. I really wanted to target WK, because I believe that she is also the bishop, but I'm also assuming that she is being protected every night. Any ideas on convincing the townies to turn on Dave?

I'm thinking it might be a good idea to swing the vote towards Mal for this day, unless we can get everyone against Dave. For right now, I'm going to place my lynch vote on Mal. She's been relatively wishy-washy, saying I wasn't smart enough to be MA, then she votes for me, I think she is a good target for lynching. I'm thinking that Deb might be a good target for the next infection.

There's no way to win without getting the village to lynch him?? That's really bad for us. I'm pretty sure that almost everyone in the game believes Dave's claim.

The only way they're going to lynch him is if it's late in the game imo.

Mal is another tough target. I haven't read the thread yet today, but I think that Chad and you look the worst out of everyone.

Let me read and check in, then I'll post back here with ideas on who looks really clean and is a good infection candidate.

Yes, the only way to kill Ripley is to lynch Ripley. You can still win, because all you need is more votes from Aliens than from Crew. It will take time, and you have to hope that you don't lose any infected players or actual aliens, but it can be done. All you need is either one more Alien than Crew, or an equal number, and get Ripley to the tie vote first.

And you guys should really be discussing this in the Day 3 thread.
