In Misfitopia when an angry mob decides to lynch someone, no amount of reasoning or examination will change their mind.

Meathe was wonky.

The town knew something was afoot. The voting this afternoon was big. There were only 9 people left in the town: 2-3 mafia, one cop, one doctor, one illuminati, a traitor and two townies. The town had been reeling from the executions of Otto and Shutter and needed to rally quickly.

If Meathe was mafia, the town had a chance.

If Meathe was not mafia, the town was in trouble.

A nervous energy pulsed through the crowd.

"Meathe HAS to be mafia. He's wonky. There is no other explanation for it."

Almost everyone agreed. Seeing as the last two people who thought Meathe was innocent were dead, no one would question the mob.

Later that evening Malfouka prepared the martini and everyone else prepared the noose.

With a quick gulp of gin, Meathe proclaimed "Contra consensus audacium deus vires habet" and was dead. Rather than lynch him, malfouka thought it would be funny to poison his martini.

"What did he just say?"

"I think he said Viva la Mafia! But, I'm not sure."

The townies headed over to Meathe's estate and began rummaging through his things. They found a half built lex, a container of vegamite and a book titled "SAM for dummies" on the table. But, no guns and certainly no cannoli.

They also found a dungeon in his basement with a skeleton key on the floor and a note from Adam saying "Fuck you, I'm free."

Meathe was illuminati, and now the illuminati were no more.

"This is a good thing" Dave said. "The illuminati are bad guys. See, now all we have to do is kill the mafia and we're all set."

The townies smiled, patted themselves on the back for a job well done, and went to bed.

In the morning, they awoke to find Bacon dead on the sidewalk. The frying pan was still lodged between his eyes and malfouka, Dave, Chad and monogodo were laughing.

Why were they laughing?

Because the mafia had won.

Results:

1. Adam - Conspiracy Theorist
2. Baconny Goodness - Cop, killed Day 3
3. Chad - Mafia
4. Dave - Traitor then mafia.
5. Jeckles - Illuminati, lynched day 1.
6. Shutter - Townie, lynched day 2
7. Meathe - Illuminati, lynched day 3
8. Otto - Townie, killed day 2
9. Deb - Townie
10. monogodo - mafia
11. malfouka - godfather
12. webkittyn - doctor

Does this mean we will spared in the future from Adam's smug comments about how obvious it is who is mafia? It gets harder after the first round?

I have just one question, if Adam know I was Illuminati (and I think he did) why did he vote with me and not against me on the first day?

See? Meathe was wonky. A wonky illuminati.

Later today, I'll move the mob and illuminati threads into this section so we can all read them. I thought we were dead on day 2. WK picked the right person to protect. I was tapped to become a full fledged mafia probably on the same night I was investigated. We knew we couldn't lynch Adam without arising too much suspicion. What really helped us was that Jeckles was Illuminati. That helped divert a little suspicion. That people piled on an innocent Shutter while most of the mafia stayed on Meathe was key for Day 2. We knew we could frame Meathe on Day 3 pretty easily at that point.

Bacon, whom did you investigate and in what order?

Why didn't he vote to lynch Chad, or at least indicate that he thought that Chad was Mafia?

Must have missed that... I thought he voted to lynch Shutter, but I'm not feeling inclined to go back and look right now.

He voted for Chad on the last day, but could've been a little more assertive.

I think Kittyn saying 'wonky' was the begining of the end for me.

I knew you and Mono had to be mafia. I couldn't decided if Malf was cop or mafia.

It is a shame that people let 'wonky-ness' control their votes. The voting patterns of the Mafia were pretty damning.

Bacon, why did you investigate Jeckles at the end of day 1 since you knew he was going to be lynched?

I was working on the assumption that both Mono and I were investigated by the beginning of day 2, so I thought the cop was Meathe or Otto (and that the other was Illuminati).

The wonky factor was right on. Meathe WAS a bad guy, just not mafia. He DID vote to lynch a townie. I, for example, didn't.

But there is a question of strategy. If I had been a townie, and admittedly I was not, it would have been my goal to eliminate the mob first. They had the advantage in numbers, and I would have assumed that the Illuminati would have been threatened by the mafia and would have no choice but to help the townie cause at first. With any luck, by the time the mafia had been taken care of or at least thinned down, the Conspiracy Theorist would have had a very good Idea who the Illuminated were and could have addressed it.

But what do I know.

I'm also starting a Mafia Game Awards thread to pick out those who have posted in the game threads early and often, which is best in keeping with the spirit of the game. These awards will have some ramification on the medal icons under your avatar. Remember, it's a social game. The more you post, the more enjoyable the game is for everyone.

i initially recruited Dave the first night because....wait for it.... i was planning on whacking Mono (for the first hit) as i believed him to be Mafia-Illuminati. i reasoned that although we would be losing a Mafia member, not only would we get a brand-spanking new one but one of the Illuminati would be disposed of. luckily, at the very last minute, i changed my mind about the Mono hit but decided to go ahead and recruit Dave.

still, what would have happened had Mono been whacked?

But what do I know.

More or less my thoughts. I see the Illuminati's role in the first part of the game as trying to build trust and take out the mafia (and conspiracy theorist if he isn't already whacked), then, after the mafia are gone, using the dungeon and sweet reason to turn the town on itself. Of course, imprisoning an illuminati at some point to garner support is almost a must.

Between my wonkyness and the cohesion of the Mafia, that one didn't go so well this time. Very well played by the mafia.

Thank you.Of course, I do have the added advantage of being 1/2 Italian. My grandfather had a sign above the door to his office in his home that read "Mafia Headquarters: Keep Out!"I guess it's in my blood.

What made you think I was IllumiMafia?

It just dawned on me. I added the Illuminati badge under my avatar at the start of the game, in hopes of throwing off the townspeople. Could that have been why you thought I was MafIlluminati?

No.
