Day 1 has begun.

Wearing his finest Italian dinner shirt, Mango sat down to a Sunday dinner with his deadbeat brother Luca and the lovely Mrs. Mango. Gathered around the table, Mango was explaining the finer points and subtle imagery of "The Da Vinci Code" when out of nowhere, Journey started playing on his iPhone...

"Dooooooon't stop belieeeeevin'"

And it all went suddenly black - for Mango that is.

Mrs. Mango was a screaming mess. Blood, brains and bits of iPhone were scattered everywhere.

Cries for help went unanswered. The misfits had seen this tired play before.

Mango is dead.

No one cared.

Until they realized that the mafia might be after them next.

Just a quick note: Chad, you should play using a clone account in this thread. Hell, make a transformer one. It'd be considered good form (in the non-cheating sense) because we normally see IPs with our staff accounts.

I'll put in a real vote later, but in the spirit of Mango hosting this fine enterprise, I'd like to salute him by kicking it off with a:

Tradition is great... if it involves eating Turkey. But let's slow down. Are we in this to win or to lynch the new guy and then let the Mafia hit Adam?

Monogodo is claiming that he needs to survey the evidence before he does anything. Am I to believe that he is the Cop, again?

More than half the players haven't even shown up yet.

I'm not ready to lynch anyone yet, but do we want to waste our first lynching like we do every time? If you think we should lynch some one, at least have some sort of fucking reason.

I just moved here from a small town in the mid west. A place you might have never heard of it called Muncie Indiana.

Remember my no-lynch vote last game? I've been rethinking that.

Let's say there are 10 players total, two of which are mafia. Randomly lynching someone gives you a 20 percent chance of taking out a bad guy. Not lynching gives you 0 percent. Mob will kill someone that night.

Day 2. Let's suppose an innocent was lynched day 1.
Random lynch: 8 players left, 2 mafia. 25 percent chance.
No lynch on day 1? 9 players left, 2 mafia. 22 percent chance.

What's more is that the 25 percent chance is actually a little higher given the fact that you now have a voting record from the players which you would not otherwise have without a lynch.

That said, having played with Jeckles as a mafia, I've noticed a slightly different posting style when he is Townie and when he is Mob. He's more defensive as Mob. Without much else to go on this early in the game, I'm changing my vote.

and I'm far from getting you killed, I'd have to get my own head out of the noose yet. But if I've learned anything about this game, inactivity will get you killed for sure.

This same statement last game made me think Monogodo was mafioso. I was wrong that time. It seems even more suspect this time. Dave makes an interesting point about Jeckles being defensive when he's mafioso. But Jeckles also makes an excellent point, he's always defensive. And Dave, with the over explaining again. Christ, it's like everyone is doing the exact thing that made me suspect them previously. Stop it goddamnit!!!
