Transformers: The Movie

No matter what you think of the movie, you will NEVER see anything like it. Visually it was unlike anything that has ever been done before. The Transformers looked 100% real. Nothing looked CGI.
Definitely not crap. Whether you liked the cartoon, hated it, or never watched Transformers in your life, you'll like the movie. Go see it

In some reviews it's saying that Transformers is the new 'Jurassic Park' in that it has raised the bar for visual FX. Fuck raising it, there isn't a bar anymore. You have never seen anything like this before.

Overall it was very good, but it was a bit long at two and a half hours.
Also, I was never really into the cartoon as a kid, so I don't really know the characters. I never got a feel for the Transformer's 'personalities.' I don't know if this would have been better, if I'd been a fan of the cartoon.
Otherwise, I liked it.
The Even Stevens kid did a great job, Jon Voight was awesome as the Secretary of Defense.

Very definitely the best film I've seen at the cinema in quite some time. I'll be going back to see it again.
There were some parts that did look CG to me - in particular Starscream knocking down the other F-22s in flight. But who's going to complain about that?

I've seen the movie everyday since it's been out and the more I see it the more little stuff I notice, but it's the small little continuity stuff that every movie has wrong.
One of my favorite parts is when Barricade chases Sam ... "ARE YOU LADIESMAN217!?! ARE YOU LADIESMAN217!?!"
That's gonna become popular

This is a review I typed up on my 360:
Quote
It's not like I'm in an "I hate everyone" mood, I just can't be fucked... So it was time to dial in a pizza, grab a couple of tinnies, lock myself in my bedroom and watch Transformers.
I. loved. it.
The pizza and beer was pretty damn good, but Transformers was awesome. The SPFX were brilliant and not over done and it was great seeing all the transforming in "real life" after seeing it for years animated.
The plot for Transformers goes back to the distant past when the Autobots and the Decepticons wage war for control over the Allspark (big ass cube, loads of power) but the Autobots smuggle the Allspark off Cybertron and Megatron goes searching for it.
Swing into the 1850's and Megatron's search ends at Earth (who'd have thought?) but he plunges straight into the Arctic Ocean and is frozen in ice, only to be later discovered by Sam's great great great great grandfather where he uses the last of his powers to etch the whereabouts of the Allspark on a possession belonging to Sam's ancestor.
Enter both Autobots and Decepticons who come to Earth to continue their war, with the added headache for the Autobots of keeping the humans safe while the war wages.
Acting by Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox was exemplary and not over the top like that of Sam's parents (played by Kevin Dunn and Julie White) and John Turturro and all in all it was a top notch film and I think I'll be seeing it again.
The Autobots were very close to animation character although I thought Optimus Prime was a little too martyr like for my liking and Megatron and his Decepticons were the epitome of evil. The fight scenes were jaw dropping and street carnage rated an impressive 9.8 on Deb's Give-me-destruction-and-make-people-bleed-o-meter.
I fell in love with Bumblebee and I give the movie (and the pizza and beer) a big ass two thumbs up.

What makes it uber impressive is the fact that people who walked into the movie theatre looking forward to slamming the fuck out of it to the point of being able to drive Optimus through the plot holes came out loving it.
