Rules of the game:
I think we could have a little fun with this game. Below are the rules for a very basic version. There are more advanced variations that we may want to try in the future. If you want to play (and I hope you do) please sign up in this thread. The more the merrier. (If you get killed early, don't worry; there will be future rounds).

Full rules for Misfit Mafia/Werewolf.

There is trouble in Misfitopia Village. The Mafia is muscling in. Will the townspeople save their village by lynching the suspected parties? Or will the Mafia knock them off one by one.

The game consists of two factions: the Townspeople of the Village and the Mafia. Each townsperson does NOT know who the others are. Each Mobster knows who the others are. The Mobsters will be able to post their discussions and strategy in a hidden forum.

These are the players in the game. Each game day they may perform a special action, in addition to whatever other posts they wish to make.

Misfit – A Misfit is an average Townsperson. Each Misfit posts whom they wish the Town to lynch. The Cop and Doctor are special types of Misfits with extra powers.

Cop – PMs the game leader whom they wish to investigate. The result will either be innocent or guilty. The cop can choose to make his discovery public in order to sway the lynch vote, or may keep it secret until he/she has more information. Naturally, once the cop reveals himself, he will be a target for the Mafia. Perhaps the Doctor can protect him. But what if a Mobster is pretending to be the cop? Then if the Doctor protects him, he is protecting the wrong person. The Cop may also choose to be more sly about revealing his information by coyly laying out hints when he posts about whom the Town should lynch.

Doctor – PMs the game leader whom they wish to protect. That person cannot be killed by the Mafia but MAY still be lynched. The Doctor may NEVER protect himself.

Mobster – Masquerades as Misfit and posts whom he/she wishes the Town to lynch. They ALSO vote whom to kill in the hidden Mobster forum. May also pose as Cop or Doctor to throw off the Townspeople.

Lynchings
There will be a lynching every game day. Simple majority rules. Unlike other threads in the forum, when you vote in this game you have to actually POST your vote on whom to lynch. You are part of a lynchmob and there's no anonymity in that. Please post your choice clearly.

Discussion
Providing a reason for your lynch vote either in the same post or elsewhere is your only way of swaying the masses and trying to organize. PMs and discussions outside this forum are discouraged for the sake of the game. The exception, of course, is for the Mobsters who are provided with a hidden forum for discussion purposes. If the Mobsters do discuss things outside the forum, they are encouraged to later post that in the hidden forum so that all the players may view it AFTER the game is over.

Who gets to be what?
Players who sign up will each receive a PM from me revealing their role in the game. Sign up begins now. Game will start...er...how about Thursday if we can get enough signed up...

Game Day 1.

The quiet town of Misfitopia is disrupted by the sight of a battered, broken and sodomized body. Dave McAwesome is dead. (Poor me.) The Townspeople know there is only one logical course of action: lynch every last man, woman and child until the culprits are found.

There are 2 mafiosos. There is 1 Cop. There is 1 Doctor. There are 3 normal Townspeople.

Each day, players vote to lynch another player. Vote in this thread. Please put your vote in bold face and (if possible) update the current tally.

For example, if the tally is Optimus Prime 2, Snake Eyes 1 and Duke 1, then your vote should be something like:

That will be extremely helpful to the other players.

PMs or emails or any discussion outside the forum would be considered cheating. (This is a social game, hence the thread. The original game was designed to be played around a dinner table.)

In your discussions, try to convince other players who to lynch. The mobsters will try to sway the vote as well. Enjoy.
