In Albini's Ask Me Anything, there's a link to a Baseball Prospectus episode 37 with a good Albini interview. He also talks about baseball vs. other sports at 1:47:ish. He divides team sports into three categories: mob sports, pong sports, and baseball.

He says mob sports (like basketball, football) are just a bunch of guys mashing about to accumulate the most points. Pong sports (like tennis, handball) are reacting to a shot. Baseball, he says, stands apart in strategy.

I'm a big Albini fan, but goddamn is he wrong about this. It was strange because he usually makes very articulate points, but here he came off as a guy who never watched any sport other than baseball. I dunno. Weird.
