Nintendo announced their next console at E3, the Wii U. Nintendo is the first of the big 3 to announce an 8th generation console. Microsoft and Sony have said the 360 and PS3 are each only half way through their 10 year shelf life, but have begun work on their respective systems.

I'm still waiting for Sega to send me reparations for buying the Sega Saturn.

As long as you didn't get taken in by the 3DO console, consider yourself ahead of the game.

I had both versions of the 3DO. It was what it was, had few PC games I could play. But Sega wasn't supposed to be a shot in the dark. They released the Saturn 6 months early at E3, and didn't tell any of the game developers. So it had no games. And by no games, when the Saturn went up for sale it had 6 (six) games that you could buy. 2 years after it's release, they announced the Dreamcast. This royally pissed off the game developers, many of whom backed out of deals they had with Sega to develop games for the Saturn. Sega took a $300 million loss on the Saturn. Which was $100 more than the Playstation.
The Dreamcast had to compete against the GameCube, XBox and PS2. It couldn't. It was the first of the 6th gen consoles released, but lasted only 2 years before Sega announced it was all done, and bowed out of the console race. Sega owes me $400. Plus damages.
