Raiders escaped with a win and then traded for Carson Palmer. They gave a lot up for him, and Palmer is fragile. This is one of those high variance, bimodal trades that will either be wildly successful (AFC Championship or better) or fantastically disastrous (Palmer gets hit at the knees and retires forever...which he has threatened to do, and I believe him).
49ers over Lions was an unexpected result to me. I haven't been following the 9ers much this year.
So Rex Ryan is not the most obnoxious coach in the league. Jim Harbaugh and Jim Schwartz have taken the lead. Except Rex shot ahead again today talking about how many rings he would've won if the Chargers hired him instead of Norv Turner. Can you imagine how obnoxious Rex will be if he ever wins a title? I mean, like, actually winning a title instead of just talking about it...while coaching a .500 team. Just sayin, Rex.
Jets over Dolphins. I was worried when the Dolphins recovered the fumbled kickoff, but the Reevis 100-yard interception return seemed to suck the life out of them. Jets look eh.
