The Runaway Bride xmas special was fine I guess. Seemed more like a Catherine Tate vehicle than anything else. I'm not sure if I bought into the change in Donna Jones or if there wasn't enough change or if there was even meant to be a change.

The Martha Jones arc seemed fine to me. (I could live without her family, whom I found annoying...actually, not all of them, just the mother. I didn't think they needed to make the mother hate/distrust the Doctor in order to cooperate with the Saxon/gov't people. The intimidation of a badge would be enough.) I liked Jones' last speech and that she walked away instead of being 'discarded' as was discussed in the School Reunion episode with Rose and Sarah Jane.

There were some not so interesting episodes: the Lazarus guy and 42, the one with the sun possessing people, but there were great ones too: Blink, Human Nature/Family of Blood.

Not having seen the old Doctor Who, I never know if an alien is recurring or new to the series. I always wonder if I'm missing something I'm supposed to know. The Master, for instance, I know is an old villain (and they explain his origin fairly well), but I have no sense of his history with the Doctor, or if his appearance is a reboot or what.

I'm sort of 50/50 on the 3-ep arc to finish the season. I'm not sure how often one is allowed to play the "all this horrible stuff is happening! and whoop, time reverses at the end so none of it happened" card. I didn't dig the floating, glowy, invincible Doctor thing at the end (well, the first ending, among many). I can't exactly say why this didn't blow me away. I'm sure part of it is that Tennant is barely in it.
