My all time favorite forum in the world (and one on which I have posted 0 times) is Electrical Audio, the forum for Steve Albini's recording studio. It's too easy to stumble onto wonderment. All you need to do is click randomly. I just found a thread about the crap/not crap-ness of Frank Zappa from 2005.

The Cliff Notes? A poster called Wernehm_Zackariaah goes off on an enthusiastic and self-important Zappa defense. Three or four others call him to task (and how Zappa is crap). WZ continues to spout mountains of spewage. Vitriol turns on WZ himself. WZ considers himself a Very Important Arbiter of Musical Taste. This goes on through page 9 of the thread (around March 5, 2005). Page 10 is the calming of the waters. Then it gets boring. It's awesome.
