Green Lantern: First Flight. The only thing I can complain about is the beginning. The origin story is glossed over and you never have a full picture of Hal Jordan. The Green Lantern origin story in Justice League: New Frontier, on the contrary, was perfect. In First Flight, the meeting between Abin Sur holds almost no weight.
After that, it's on to Hal Jordan's first adventure and things move briskly. For me, Green Lantern is best taken in small doses. I like him as part of the Justice League where he's just one part of a whole team. Taken in isolation, the lantern power is kinda hokey. It comes off fine here, as Jordan and Sinestro take on a very space-cop-type role to investigate Abin Sur's murder.
Sinestro's turn is decent. You definitely feel like the Green Lanterns are in serious danger. Many die.
Nice adventure even if Hal Jordan was more of a cipher for the viewer than an actual flesh-and-blood character. He's just sort of this generic hero dude than a real person.
Not crap.
Green Lantern: First Flight - crap or not crap?
