It's been a banner month for internet privacy. Both Google and Facebook have been on the wrong side of the fence.
Google "admitted it had accidentally collected information sent over unsecured wireless networks in homes it had photographed for its Street View service (and) ...had been inadvertently collecting snippets of e-mails and other internet activity within those homes."

People can say what they want about how these gigantic private corporations 'didn't mean to' or 'weren't going to use it for anything evil' but the points are 1) they have no right to violate our privacy and 2) they don't care until they're caught.
