I'm sure I'll regret this, but welcome to the Politics and Religion section.
1. You must have at least 10 posts on this board to post here. Why? I don't want screaming asstards to sign up, post one item about how such-and-such is right and everybody else is a fool following a bigger fool into Fool Town, and then never return.
2. No screaming.
3. Seriously, no screaming.
4. Please remember that not everyone agrees with you. Your monopoly on truth holds no sway here. When offering your opinion, back it up with supporting statements, facts, logic, evidence, etc. "Such-and-such an issue is stupid." That may be true, but the essence of discussion is just that: discussion. Offer reasons why such-and-such is stupid.
5. Stay on topic. No one wants to read your 10,000 word rant on the rise of nuclear proliferation in a post-industrial society. That's what a blog is for (and street corners).
6. Careful on the conspiracy stuff, man. See #4.
7. Use the 10 second rule. We know, it never really worked in the Tom and Jerry cartoons, but we feel it can work in real life. If something makes you angry (we’re talking hot, foot-stomping mad), count to ten before writing a post. Then delete what you’ve written and try it again. You’ll be happier writing a clear-headed, constructive post than an angry diatribe about how there’s no earthly way Ann Coulter is more attractive than Al Franken.
When you signed up to this board, you agreed not to post anything that is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing. Try to keep it clean, folks, okay? Don't be a jerk.
For your convenience, see this list of common logical fallacies.
