Sorry this is late. We cut out right after work for Oklahoma to see Craig Ferguson perform his standup show at the Winstar Casino.
If you ever get the chance to see him, by all means, do so. You won't be sorry. Yes, his routine is blue, but damn, it's funny. Cynthia and I were laughing pretty much the whole way through it. I was even starting to tear up a bit from laughter. His impressions of Larry King and Andy Rooney were spot-on.
Anyway, we're now back home after stopping at IHOP for a late night snack. We're going to unwind a bit, then head to bed.
Saturday we have to clean the old loft and patch holes. We also have to empty the storage unit and patch the holes in the walls of it (from the bike hangers).
I want to have everything out by late afternoon/early evening, so we can relax a bit.
At some point we'd like to go to the Korean spa for some relaxation. I'd like to get a body scrub while there.
Sunday is also my birthday. I'll be 42.
What are y'all up to this weekend?

Happy Birthday!
I am about to leave for a speech tournament and I hope I get first. I am trying to qualify one event (humorous duet) for Regionals (which goes to state) and I am taking two other events (poetry and FEX) which I hope to medal in. This is the last qualifying tournament so I have to get at least 3rd to go on with the HD.

It's kind of like a bunch of acting and debate competitions. I took poetry, Foreign Extemporaneous Speaking, and Humorous Duet. I placed in HD and did okay in the rest it just wasn't my day (I usually get first or second). But you have a round with up to 8 people and then you compete and you have one judge in every round except for finals where you have 3 judges.
My friend and I did "Praise the Lard" by Bill Cosby and there were six other people in our round. In HD you have ten minutes, two chairs, and it's a memorized event. The only props you can use are the chairs. My friend does an amazing Bill Cosby but he turns him sorta into a creeper and I play his wife (I sniff his face at one part
) and a crazy doctor. The scene is what Bill Cosby wrote but we can interpret that however we want to. The doctor is supposed to be normal but the doctor I play has all kinds of swords and draws blood by stabbing Bill Cosby with a samurai sword...so basically I made him crazy as heck!
It's very fun and our HD is really good and has the potential to go to state and win first place.
In poetry you can't move and you have to have the script in your hands and you use facial expressions and voice to get the emotion or whatever across. You have to stay in one place and show our humor etc. by your talent through not being able to move or use your hands.
FEX is not an acting event but sort of debate. You get 5 questions out of a bag and then you choose one and you have 30 minutes to write and memorize a speech with sources that you have to go back to. The speech needs to be withing 4-7 minutes long. The topics are over foreign issues and you have to take an opinion and then give the speech to the judges. You can move in this one but you have no chair or anything. You can use a notecard but it is frowned upon in serious competition (and FEX can get serious which I just find annoying)
Their are tons of other events but I didn't take any others to this last tournament.

In Australia, you are already 42. Happy birthday, mono.
I'm doing nothing. Same as I do every weekend, although I did go and see Talia is hospital yesterday. Again.
I'm beginning to see a pattern here.
