There are lots of things I want to cover in this. I'll get the most obvious out of the way ... GI Joe is superior to Transformers in every single way. They followed the standard issue action movie plot line, but did it better than any other, and it's GI fucking Joe. The writing was great. Even the Kung Fu grip joke was well done. Knowing is half the battle joke, meh. They developed characters, had flashbacks to give incredibly detailed back-story, and laid out a full blown mythology for the rebooted series. How close it is to the original is for Dave to decide. GI Joe wasn't my big thing as a kid. The action scenes are completely over the top and out of proprtion. They were perfect. The Baroness is fucking hot and talks in it I think.

Dave if you don't walk out of the theater with a giant erection, I don't know what the fuck will make you happy in life.

Not crap.

Everything that Chad said is true. It's the best pure action movie I've seen in a while. (No, it's not better than WAtchmen, but that's got more to it than action.)

It's better than any of the Star Wars prequels. I liked the X-men movies, and I'd say GI Joe topped them too by a hair.

I expected this to suck. I expected all the futuristic weapons and vehicles to play out very poorly (like a bad Bond film). Instead it was a lot of fun. 10 times better than what the commercials show. It's not Die Hard or Aliens 2, but it's pretty solid.

The story and background are almost nothing like the original GI Joe. They're actually closer to the reboot Josh Blaylock did with Devil's Due in 2001. That reboot sucked. While the movie retains some elements of that, it does a better job with them. Yeah, some of the departures from the old comic bothered me, but not enough to dislike the film.

Incidentally, doesn't ice float? Why not detonate explosions from within the base? In my head I rewrote the events that they simply did the latter.

Having slept on it, I really enjoyed the film. I doubt it's due to my childhood experiences with the franchise, because these characters (and the story) were so different. Just good fun.

I thought the ending seemed kinda rushed as well, the part with Cobra Commander and Destro. I also wish they had done this one year apart from TF. Now I have another 2 year wait.

I LOVED it and I'm a happy camper that there's obviously going to be a sequel.

The action was awesome as was all the technology and I'm pretty sure I got a hard on and I don't even have a dick!

Definitely NOT crap.
