So did anyone click my Goatse link?

It's really not what you think it is.

Okay, I'll be the village idiot and give it a shot.

Ooooh, I love those things!

I'm scared that I know all about LemonParty without having to click any links.

Yanno... MySpace, Facebook and Twitter are this generation's version of Yahoo and IRC. The difference being we're all supposed to care about what our friends and family are thinking/feeling/playing/listening to/reading at any given moment of the day.

It's all shit, but that's coming from someone who has used a shitload of chat programs/journal sites etc for a real long time.

It's all the same with something new added on each time to make it seem better, but it's still the same shit that it always used to be. I believe we call that internet evolution.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Everytime I tell someone that these sites have more to do with trendiness than technology, they look at me like I'm crazy. Technology is nice, but it can't trump popularity. There are sites that do the same thing Twitter does, but nobody knows about them. Normal, non-techy friends have asked me, "so do I have to get on Facebook/Twitter/some-trendy-service now?" I say, "you don't have to." Them: "but everyone's telling me I have to, that it's what everybody's doing now. Er, what does it do?" And I tell them. Their reaction is always the same, "what's wrong with email?"

I don't begrudge anyone from using these services (not publicly anyway, while I privately seethe), but if any of those sites were deleted from their servers tomorrow, it would not detract from my life one bit. Until Mango sends me an invite to a new one.

back on topic :P
Facebook, the easiest way to keep track of friends and what they are up to. (seams like everyone and their mom has facebook. i know this because my mom has facebook lol)
Myspace, fully customizable page to fit your personality, you can have profile songs and everything. ( i dont use this as much because a lot of people got rid of it for facebook)
Twitter, i just cant make myself join another site like this. i havnt tried it, so i cant make a assessment.

Facebook - full of nothing but time-wasting applications in a family/school reunion setting. Seriously, it does nothing other than act like a diary planner for everyone. Everyone's got their mum on it or auntie sandy and their most favouritest english teacher evuh. Spare me.

MySpace - An internet version of school ground cliques where everyone from school still hangs with the same people they usually associate with and people not in the cool crowds can still get bullied until they do the internet version of hiding in the toilet during break times and they put their junk on friends only. Way too many frills and bubbles associated with profile pages to the point where everything gets lagged to fuck. Best MySpace feature ever was the nifty little IP checker you could code in and you didn't even have to advertise it.

Twitter - utter waste of time. "I'm eating my lunch. smile.gif", "Peter said hi when we crossed paths biggrin.gif", "that weather girl is hot wink.gif". Who fucking cares? The only thing I like about Twitter is that rather than having to read a long ass blog and getting to the end before you realise it's a pile of shit, you can find out the same thing in 140 characters or less.

I've used all these applications, and now I don't. Facebook has been glanced at once since January and that's only because someone I know from chat died. MySpace hasn't been looked at since October 2007. Twitter is ignored until I post up a blog entry, and then I've got 140 characters to lure morons to my pile of shit blog entry.

Part of me wants to ask what kinds of questions were being asked in the poll, and that they must have been hard questions if she died from hitting them, but that would be insensitive of me.

I am in the process of blogging, just so I can twitter and I'm going to put "come read my shit" with a link. That way, when they find out I was telling the truth, they can't complain because I already warned them.

I'll never understand reunions. I haven't seen most of my school peers for 26 years and I seriously don't miss them enough to care what they're doing now.

I am defective.

You're not defective, Deb, you're very normal.

I like to go to mine to catch up with the friends that I like that aren't online. Or that I like enough to care about how they're doing, but not enough to keep up with them on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.

And so far, in 23 years, we've only lost one classmate out of 107. His death was declared a suicide, but there are a few in the community that think foul play was involved.

My 20 year is soon and for the first time, I want to go. I don't really know or like anyone I went to school with but I have this juvenile desire to show up and show-off how well I've aged. Looking at pix of former classmates on friends' facebook pages I've been struck at how old and fat most everyone has become. I was one of the strange kids in HS--punk, militantly straight-edge, political, vegetarian and thus was not regarded favorably. Looking a solid ten years younger than everyone else and in relatively good shape will be a sort of revenge.

Only problem is, I can't get anyone to go with me. I may hire a hot young male escort.

Now see, this is the ONLY reason why I would want to go.

Thank you for your honesty Ms Malfouka. I find that reason extremely acceptable.

No. He was shot with a handgun. While his father was home. After they'd had a fight. The police declared it an accidental suicide, because the father told them that his son had gone to his room to clean his gun.
