Poker - money or competition?

Personally, I don't care if it's for fake money. I enjoy poker for the competition and social camaraderie. I don't make different decisions because I'm not using real money. I want to win, real money or not.
Just played a Texas Hold 'em tournament on the intarweb. Only two of us left. I had 1000 chips to his 8000. I was down to 600 at one point. Got back to 1000. Got it to 6k-3k. Couldn't bounce him out. Played one or two hands I shouldn't have. Went down 4k-5k. We went all in, each with full houses. He was 3s full of sixes. I had 3s full of Aces. He was a good player. God's speed, sir.
What did I win in the game? 90 chips. It was a low buy-in. 90 lousy chips. I dunno. I had fun. That it was only 90 chips--90 fake chips at that--didn't bother me too much. It was just fun playing.
P.S., I still think Texas Hold 'em sucks compared to 7-card stud.

I won't watch it, play it or endorse it in anyway and I even hate Lady Gaga's song Poker Face.

The money--real or fake--doesn't matter. I get worked up over losing or winning fake money and take an almost obsessive interest in growing my stack of chips. The downside of this is that after a loss, I tend to get depressed for a few days. My main problem is that during the week I almost always show a substantial gain but end up drinking too much on the weekends and lose $20-$40+ grand or drink too much and allow my companion to lose $20-$40+ grand.
Have you seen the film "The Grand"?

Poker players are bigger misanthropes than I am.
Omaha Hi-Lo is the best game to play. Also, the best game to take suckers for lots of money. I can't think of playing Hold-Em anymore without vomiting.

There is nothing worse than being at a table (Blackjack, Poker, whatever) in Vegas and being surrounded by chattering nitwits. Same for online. If I wanted to make small-talk with strangers, I'd be in a bar.

Ok whatever. I don't play for real money just for fun and competition which I voted for. You're just being a jerk.

Its kind of sad really. Every family reunion I can be found in the back with all the old guys playing hold'em.
Its rather humorus when I take all thier chips. They get pissed.
Competition all the way.
